Standfirst paragraph, set larger than the body: two or three lines that carry the reader from the headline into the story and say why it matters.
Body paragraph. This is where the regional team tells the story in their own words — what happened, who was there, and what changed. Keep it concrete: a place, a person, a moment. Copy to be supplied by the communications team.
A second paragraph continues the account. Details that a reader outside the region would not know go here, plainly, without explanation of why they matter — the story carries that on its own.
“A direct quote from the young person or leader at the centre of the story, kept exactly as they said it.”
A subheading for the second half
The closing section: where the story goes next, what the region is asking for, and how the reader can be part of it. End on the person, not on the programme.
